I got lucky with all my three respondents. They were sharing a crazy amount of information. I actually conducted four interviews, but the one respondent ended up being not relevant (no tools in the last 6 months except for Grammarly and Google Translate).
Their stories were really engaging. I diverted from the script a lot. In some cases, respondents answered questions before I asked them. When the flow of conversation suggested that I should either keep a person talking or stick to the script, I always chose the former. So, even though I kept the script in front of me, none of the interviews went perfectly according to it.
Retrospectively, it feels that I should have probably focused more on the usage of platfoms and tools, while I conducted something that is more like the interview about personal goals, wins and struggles. Got carried away, sincerely enjoyed listening to people’s stories😅. I would appreciate your thoughts about how to do it right.
I promised to not share those interviews publicly. Please don’t share it with anyone.
When doing competitor research, I took platforms that are used by Ukrainians, rather than developed by Ukrainians. Could be that misunderstood the assignment
I have doubts regarding “customer jobs” qualification. Do past experiences and future aspirations qualify as customer job? If person did something few month ago, but now doesn’t is that a job? I answered that “yes”, since people in target audience may do that, but I have doubts about it.
When certain person keeps repeating similar gains (maybe even same), should I count every time? I did, but not sure if it won’t corrupt priority. If one person says something 5 times, and 4 others say something once, the latter should have higher priority, right?
